Although I live in the Great State of Kentucky, I ventured north some 40 miles to join a dinner group to explore Troy's Cafe'. Had it not had such great reviews, I doubt I would have elected to go out on this bitter cold winter Cincinnati night. I am so happy I did. It's hard to say what was better----the service, the friendliness of the staff, the camaraderie of everyone who raved about their food, or the food itself. It was all good. I began with the Spring Rolls and a glass of Pinot Grigio. I'm used to Spring Rolls but these were exceptional and the Pinot Grigio mellowed the tangy tasty dipping sauce. Someone recommended the Troy Burger with a fried egg on top which was stupendous. I know everyone comments on the Best Burger but it was truly delicious. Our dinner leader had reserved several of the strawberry shortcake desserts for us, and, although I'm not a dessert person, it was a wonderful after-dinner treat. The highest compliment I can pay a restaurant is that I will be back. I will go back to Troy's.

It's hard to find a casual, non-chain cafe in the Westchester suburbs that actually serves some good grub. Well, Troy's hits the spot for me and my family. It's a small place, but feels more cozy than cramped. The service is always friendly, and it is clear everyone takes pride in their product (Troy as well as his staff). Most everything we've tried has been great, but our favs include: - Spaghetti & meatballs (kids love this dish!) -- the meatballs aren't the run-of-the-mill variety. Sun dried tomato -- kickin' good! - Uovo sandwich (my favorite). I mean, prosciutto, egg, Aioli, parm, ... definitely not a breakfast egg sandwich. - Cajun Blue Cheese Burger (wife's) - Very fresh, juicey, just the right amount of spice/cheese ratio. And the fries are excellent, with plenty of seasoning and no grease. -Napa slaw - very fresh take on slaw. I can only eat a few pounds at a sitting... I think they have Wine night on Mon nights, with specials on wine/meal pairings. Definitely recommend this place for a casual night out when you are in the 'burbs.

Stopped by for lunch based on the Yelp reviews, and all of us were underwhelmed with our sandwich selections. The Cuban may have been best -- the bread was delicious -- but where were the pickles? The black beans on the side were a little wan, and the side Caesar salad seemed like a typical Caesar you'd get at a place like this. The Uovo sounded interesting but either had too much or not enough going on -- no real "oomph." The burger was a typical burger and the chicken pretzel sandwich was, I guess, OK. Fries were nothing special. All in all, not bad, but certainly not memorable. Service was fast and friendly. The weirdest thing is that they have wine bottles all over their front counter -- I mean, just bottles up there for sale, in every inch of counter space -- and it just looks messy and like they are really trying to push wine.

Our friends brought us to Troy's for brunch. Simply put; this place is amazing. My wife and I split the chorizo chicken & cheese spring rolls and the uovo sandwich. Both were extremely flavorful utilizing high quality ingredients. I hope we have the opportunity to visit Troy's again the next time we visit Cincinnati.

That's it, Troy, you've won! I no longer agree with my 4 star rating. It's time to give you the 5 stars you deserve, which is long overdue. The Spaghetti with Sundried Tomato Meatballs is just marvelous!! I love it and crave it often. Your service is wonderful, even though I do mostly carry-out. For example, one day, we ordered dessert, which was in a glass bowl. In lieu of ruining the beauty of the dessert your Mama works so hard to make, you told us to take the dessert, in its bowl and trusted we would bring it back. Now, that's a family friendly place anyone can appreciate! I know we do! THANK YOU!

I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. One of my best finds! I usually get the Troy Burger and Fries. Their fries are the best I have ever had. The Salmon salad was also very delicious. I highly recommend!

I love Troy's. It's a place I would never have stopped at had another chef not recommended it to me. Located in a nondescript strip of very local stores on a somewhat lonely stretch of West Chester road around the corner from Kroger, the interior is bright, simple, and clean. Confession: I have never dined in the cafe, even though I have no objections to it. On most visits you will find me sitting on the large, comfortable couch by the front door, thumbing through one of their issues of Food & Wine and waiting for my uovo sandwich and house salad, Cajun burger with cafe fries, or brunch whim of the week. House salad can sometimes strike fear into the hearts of veggie lovers, with it's pale chopped iceberg lettuce and tasteless tomatoes and shredded carrot tossed in nondescript white dressing, but fear not! Troy has redeemed the name with his submission to the genre, a huge serving of mixed greens topped with roasted peppers, olives, feta, and a creamy balsamic dressing. I have enjoyed it as a light meal on it's own, and grilled chicken can be added for a little extra chew. My boyfriend has tried all of their burger varieties and each time I demand a bite for the sake of science, and I can vouch- over his loud "MMMMMM"s- that each one has been delicious. I believe Troy makes the burger patties himself from supplies purchased next door at Dave's Quality Meats. I usually go for the uovo sandwich. Put a fried egg on anything and it will be good, but Troy's open-faced uovo is greatness. The grilled cheese with brie and bacon is my second favorite. I often add a soup of the day, which have ranged from curried squash to beer cheese, and most of them were lovely, although a couple have been a little salty, but nothing a little dilution didn't hurt. They've added some new menu items since the last time I dropped in, and I can't wait to check those out. Oh, and I almost forgot: substitute cafe fries! Trust.

It doesn't get much better than this! Troy's is awesome. I have been here a few different times and I am always blown away by the food and service. The last time I went with my sister, she got the sun-dried tomato pasta and I got a classic burger. We both really enjoyed our meals to say the least.

We eat at Troy's fairly often. Great food for the price, and though the menu is smaller than a lot of other places, it is all good and he has specials that rock. Service is fast and friendly, have never gone through a meal feeling neglected. I've never had anything that seemed made ahead and reheated, as some previous reviewers stated. Definitely try the Mother's Day and Father's Day buffets.

I took my tween-age son here for burgers this evening. The burgers remind me most closely of SmashBurgers... very tasty with substantial buns to soak up the grease. I did not care for either the chips (homemade but burned tasting) or the fries. But the place is clean and pleasant, the staff is very friendly and the peanut butter pie was flat out awesome. We will probably return, mostly because my son absolutely loved the burger but also because after reading these reviews I am curious to try something else. :-)

What a find! Good wine selections, delicious food. Had the Chorizo Spring Rolls, Artichoke dip and split the Fish Tacos. Everything was fantastic. Will definitely be back and recommend. So sad I didn't get to try the Peanut Butter Pie... make sure you order yours with your food, the pieces go FAST.

Took my teenage son here today for lunch and it was awesome. He had the Troy Burger, with homemade chips and he loved it. I had the fish tacos (and I'm kind of a snob about them) and their were great. We spent $18.00, less than when we go to Penn Station! The ingredients were fresh, the food was well-prepared, the place was clean and the service was excellent.

My godmother gave me a gift certificate for Troy's with the instructions: "Try the peanut-butter pie!" I ate at Troy's yesterday for lunch and got the Troy Burger and fresh cut fries. Both were wonderful, and I cleaned my entire plate. Full from lunch, I took home the pie for later, and it did not disappoint. Delicious. Friendly service, though I did have to go up and ask about my drink (a Mocha). When they finally brought it to me, it tasted great. We arrived before noon, and there were only a few other people in the restaurant. By the time we left, most tables were occupied. I'll definitely go back.

Cute little family owned eatery. I like to come here everytime I am in Cinci because it's delicious and close to my mothers house. They also do catering. The menu is small but everything is fresh and seasonal. The owner stops in frequently and is very nice and interacts with all the guests and makes sure they're enjoying everything. I love the salads and the homemade potato chips are TO DIE FOR.

Visited this restaurant solely based upon Yelp reviews. After a thorough menu explanation by a member of the staff, I chose the Cashew Salmon & my wife ordered the Mozzarella Pasta. Portions were "just right" and avoid food waste. Both were delicious. Definitely get one of the homemade desserts to complete your meal. We'll be back again...and again...and again.

I've been here several times after just finding it a few weeks ago. First off, the staff is super friendly and professional, Troy must have amazing luck in finding good people and give amazing training. Secondly, the food is just so simply fresh, good, balanced, portioned, and priced. The Uovo egg sandwich is a revelation, and can't wait to try the brie and bacon sandwich. Husband said his cuban was ok, but when we saw the fish tacos coming out of the kitchen and heading to other tables, we knew we were coming back. And yes, they are amaze-balls. Best. fish tacos. ever. Can't wait to try more. And like others have said, get the peanut butter pie. Even if you have no room for it. Throw your 4 dollars on the counter and get it to go. Best I've ever had. I ate it over a whole week, just sneaking bites out of the fridge. It's a 'order at the counter' kind of place, but the food is top notch for foodies and priced low.

I've never had a bad dish at Troy's. The Comfort Food special for the day is always interesting and tasty. Their housemade soups are delicious - especially try the curry soup on days they have it. I'll echo what many people have said - have the excellent grilled cheese with brie/bacon/tomato, fish and chips (frequent Friday special), Cuban sandwich, etc. Basically you can't go wrong. Also consider Troy's for Mother's Day brunch and Father's Day feast, but be sure to make a reservation because these are popular events. All of the desserts are good, too - strawberry shortcake, peanut butter pie, etc.

Tory's is superb. Moved to the area and stumbled upon this outstanding eatery. My daughter loves the spaghetti with giant meatball, I love the troy's burger. Everything on the menu is amazing and the best in West Chester. Only item I don't like at all are the Saratoga Chips(they are brown and very crispy), but that is just me as I like those usually cooked just right. I'd argue their burger w/bacon, fries, and troy's secret sauce is the best in Cincinnati !

I have been a regular at Troy's since it opened, and am so glad that it continues to survive in West Chester. The Troy's Burger is among the best in the region; the Cuban Panini is one of the best sandwiches in town, and Troy's specials are great reasons to go back on a regular basis. You can tell that Troy knows what he is doing, and it is nice to have a non-cookie-cutter cafe that delivers a consistently good experience.

I love Troys! They have good food for decent prices. They carry decent beer and lovely wine. Everything that I've had is very fresh and Troy rotates a seasonal menu from what I can tell. Sunday brunch is a great find and wine tasting nights (Monday's I think) are interesting. They even list if an item is Gluten Free or not which is great for my Gluten Intolerant hubby!

I went with a group of workers and I had the uovo (egg) open face sandwich. The others got the Troy burger and fish taco. The dishes came with a very clean and colorful presentation. My sandwich was very tasty, and was not too salty given that it was loaded with prosciutto. My sandwich and fries was 8.50 which I find to be a good price, especially compared to panera, though I didn't check to see if they have wifi. Order at counter and served at your table. It was not crowded on Friday lunch, though I hope more people come to check out this place.

Nice atmosphere. Order at the counter. Good service. Came a little after 12. Not crowded. Enjoyed the Greek Burger with olive tapenade and feta. The Cuban my husband ordered didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The pickle on the side would've been better on the sandwich itself and the sandwich was a little too hard to bite into. Fries and chips were seasoned, but not too salty. Nice job West Chester!

The food was amazing! The tuna salad had a nice amount of tuna, with wasabi ranch and a soy dressing. SO GOOD. The burger was tasty. The server was awesome as well. Homemade saratoga/potato chips were great too.

My family and I visited Troy's for the first time tonight. Very happy with the food and with the price. The kids menu had enough variety for my picky daughters and the two pasta dishes my wife and I had were quite good. The staff was very friendly and the place was nice and calm. We will definitely be back to dine in and to carry out.

LOVE Troy's. Personally, I find it pretty cool that Troy himself is there. I've taken several people there to try my little secret place and no one ever leaves disappointed. I am a vegetarian and there are SEVERAL options that I can modify easily and enjoy. I love the UOVO sandwich with no prosciutto. If you live nearby, you have to try it!

I've been a regular at Troy's since I found it a year ago. The menu has something to satisfy any craving or mood (including the excellent Troy's Burger). The music is always relaxing and the staff are friendly, making for an excellent lunchtime escape from the office or dinner destination. What sets Troy's apart, for me at least, is the variety. Creative daily special dishes ensure that my short food attention span is never tested. Definitely worth checking out if you want a laid-back atmosphere with good food.

Went to Troy's Cafe for the first time last night. I was very impressed. No entree was over $10. Nice selection of wine. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. Food was great. Had the Ahi Tuna Salad...wife had the grilled cheese. I love any place you can eat a grilled cheese and drink some wine.

Dined there on a weeknight with wife and son. Menu was nice and varied with good options. Food arrival was reasonably quick but it seemed as if most items had been prepared ahead of time and reheated. While it did not taste bad, you could see how much better it could be if prepared fresh. Would try again but probably when they are busier so everything is a bit fresher.

Been there twice now. Enjoyed both meals. Had the fish tacos and the troy's burger with fries. Also sampled the Caesar salad, chips with hummus/salsa, tomato bisque soup, fudge cake and peanut butter pie. Fish tacos...excellent...good taste and enough fish on there...would order again. Burger was very good...cooked a little too well for my taste and they did not ask the temperature I wanted...but very good. My only complaint was the ketchup...served in a small cup...probably homemade because it had a different taste...maybe an Amish ketchup. I prefer Heinz all the way and the different taste made my burger not as good as it should be. Premium establishment needs to serve the best ketchup. Homemade fries were great...not too greasy and nice spice added to them. Chips and dips were also very good. Caesar salad was just OK...they did tell us it was the last one and the dressing needed to be heavier...we did not ask for more so I do not know if it was the dressing they ran out of or the salad?tomato bisque soup excellent...a little cream added to it made the taste very good. Fudge cake...average at best...it was the last piece and tasted a little stale...cake was a little hard...they should remove the cake if it is not fresh. The peanut butter pie was superb! You got to try this if you like PB...a real treat! Overall, 2 very good experiences with minor complaints...I will bring my own ketchup and ask them for medium not well done next time and the burger will be outstanding! I love the walk up and order as opposed to the waiter/waitress experience...makes it faster and more of an in and out place as opposed to a long lunch or dinner...I would recommend broadening the menu a bit...I would love to come more often but the choices are not abundant and that will unfortunately limit my trips there...if you are looking for more of a sit down restaurant experience this is not the place for you. If you want good food at very reasonable prices then go and go often! Local places need to survive in Cincinnati and this is one that should be on your rotation so Troy can grow and offer more of the great stuff they are cooking up!

Locally sourced beef from the butcher next-door. Much of the menu is hand-made from scratch ... and there is a killer beer and wine selection. Hard to do better than Troy's for a good lunch.

My family and I all met up with my brother, his girlfriend, and my parents for a birthday celebration in West Chester. My brother and his girlfriend are regulars at Troy's Cafe and recommended that we all give it a try. I had never heard of Troy's before and it would be easy to drive right past their West Chester location at the corner of a plain strip mall. There is a small patio out front, but none of the tables were large enough for our group of eight. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded inside and one of the employees gladly pulled two tables together for us. We started with a couple of small plates to share around the table. My favorite were the spring rolls ($6.45 for 2) filled with grilled chicken, Queen City chorizo sausage, and aged Wisconsin cheddar. Sweet chili sauce was served on the side, but the rolls didn't really need to be dipped. The flavor from the cheddar and chorizo was outstanding! For dinner I had the chicken pretzel sandwich ($9.95) topped with sweet smokey BBQ sauce, apricot chutney, goat cheese, and field greens. The chicken was drenched in sauce, making it pretty messy to eat, but the mess was worth. The flavor combination was like nothing I've had before with the creamy goat cheese, smokey BBQ, and sweet apricot all mixing together in each bite. My wife had the veggie panini ($8.95), which was filled with so many fresh vegetables including Portobello mushroom, zucchini, squash, tomato, and spinach. It was topped with basil mayonnaise and Muenster cheese between sour dough bread. I didn't get to try a bite, but I'm told it was also very good. Both sandwiches were served with cafe chips on the side. My brother has tasted a majority of the menu and says that it is all excellent. And from what we tried during our first visit to Troy's Cafe I would have to agree with him. I would definitely return for me, especially the Cuban panini that looked amazing.

My family and I have been eating at Troy's for several years. There are nine of us total, so we can be quite a crowd if we all show up. I also go there with girlfriends for lunch and with just the hubby. You can dress casually and fit right in. You can sit inside or out, depending on the weather. The menu is eclectic and does change regularly. I find everything to be good, but the standouts for my family are the burgers and fish tacos. To save on carbs (I run, so this is important for me), I order the burger sans bun. The meat is fresh and from a local butcher a few doors down. We eat there a few times each month and it is because the ingredients are fresh and you never know what the special will be for that day. I have two teenage children and they both enjoy the food. We also like the light atmosphere and service. It is welcoming and comfortable. Overall, we give this five stars. We have also been to the Mason location a few times after King's Island and it is just as good. Troy will likely be there milling about. He seems pretty hands-on. That also gives me comfort.

Troy's is different. Doesn't easily fit in any one category. Like the menu, my one experience here was somewhat eclectic. It had its wow moments as well as its *disappointed sigh* moments. First off: The food we had was very, very good. The menu however is pretty small and I feel there's a disproportionate amount of offerings that are heavy on the carbs (sandwiches and pasta, black beans, chips, pretzel roll). There will not necessarily be something for everyone here, so I recommend you peruse the menu before dropping in. It will also make your ordering experience (not to mention that of the person in line behind you) easier and more pleasant. The dishes are gourmet quality, though, the chef-driven concept very much in evidence. My husband's Cafe Salad was a work of art and very palate-pleasing, while my grilled vegetable panini was heaven. Oh! Those portabella mushrooms could almost (but not quite) make a vegetarian out of me. And the dining room was exceptionally clean, nice simple but cheery decor, plenty of natural light streaming in during the day to make it nice and bright. The tables are pretty well placed to accommodate a maximum number of guests without feeling squeezed. Knowing that this is a cafe (short for cafeteria, remember) I was not surprised or displeased to order at the counter. We were given a number, and I was expecting to hear it called and to get up for a tray, since I had already done the self-serve soft drink thing. [Pepsi products (yucko) along with fresh brewed iced tea (yay)!]. But instead an employee (can't bring myself to call him a server) brought our meal along with the Mister's glass of wine. No self-serve on that beverage! The food-deliverer asked if he "could get (us) anything else right now." Later I realized that meant right NOW, as in "now or never, because I will not be stopping back here at all to check on you." We did see quite a bit of him, and two others, either dropping off plates or bussing tables, wiping tables, drying tables, and sweeping the floor under recently-vacated tables. Explains why it's so clean! And they had mastered the art of the averted eye, moving smoothly through their duties without allowing the patrons to distract them. So it's a mixed bag. The delicious culinary creations seem almost out of place in the 'self-serve' setting. And the fact that they also serve beer and wine makes it challenging as that has got to be served to you. Are you supposed to try and wave down an employee, or go back to the counter? And speaking of wine, where do they get off charging a "corkage fee" at an establishment like this? But that fabulous food, and oh my, just looking at the dreamy desserts made me salivate. We do plan a return visit.

Food was great, prices were very affordable; I highly recommend! I went here with a group of 8 people to celebrate a graduation. It came highly recommended from a local in the area. Most of us got wines, appetizers and entrees, and everyone was very happy! I got a side Caesar salad and the fish tacos with fries. I loved the dressing on the salad: creamy but not heavy. The tacos were amazing. Refreshing with a little lime squeeze and a little bit of heat at the end. Fries had a nice rub on them too. The salmon orzo was also very good. The pesto on it was out of this world! Watch out for menu changes and busy nights. You can always take it to go though. Also you cannot tip on a credit card, so if you feel so inclined, make sure you have cash.

Exhausting visit to IKEA just trying to get a stupid couch today. Needed some nice food. Yelp led us to Troy's. It was the middle of the afternoon, so we were the only people in there. The staff was friendly and engaging. I ordered Troy's burger with fries. One of the cool things about the burger is that the beef comes from the butcher next door, local businesses working together in the most delightful ways. It was some hot juicy goodness, would order again. I also tried one of the chorizo spring rolls. This may have been the best thing. It was well executed and the sauce is mouth watering. The menu is not huge but there is enough variety to please a group. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for lunch or dinner. Four stars.

Wow! The burger is one of the best I have had in a long time. The meat is fresh from the butcher two doors down daily. Service is great and very attentive. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a great burger. Rumor has it the fish tacos are great too!

I am an occasional 'regular' at Troy's. Was there for lunch earlier this week. The weather has been so perfect, that my lunch companion and I decided to sit outside and eat under one of the umbrellas. I ordered the famous fish tacos and when they were delivered by the delightful Troy's employee, they looked like something out of a magazine! I took a bite and was in heaven. Its been far too long that I've had fish tacos this darn good! I told the manager that I could not begin to find the words to adequately explain just how much I enjoyed our lunch. I think his name was Mike, and a lovely young lady named Megan? I spoke with a couple other employees while there and everyone is just so nice. Even sitting outside, they were super helpful offering to get refills. I need to be a more regular-regular! Good quality local people, doing a great job turning out outstanding product, with excellent service-Bravo!

This is why I love yelp. Down for a basketball tournament and lots of chain options. Yelp leads us to troys. Great find and yes the fish tacos are fantastic. Everything is fresh. Great wine and beer selection at good prices. I don't know why more restaurants can't figure out that a good selection does not have to be expensive. Just shows that the owner cares and attention to detail. Don't forget about the dessert.

When we travel we use Yelp to find great places to eat, and we really enjoyed our visit to Troy's. The service was fast and the food was served hot. The menu was diverse enough that we enjoyed great food that was not like you'd find in a chain restaurant. Give this place a try, you love it!!!!

I've been here three times and everything time the food was great. I think they could expand on their menu, but the service is good, the people are friendly, and they serve wine. It's around $10-15 per entrée, but it's well worth the money. The food is absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a burger the Troy's burger is always good. Their pasta tastes really good too.

I reduced my original star rating from five to two. We have eaten at Troys once every month or two now for over a year but our lunch on really on Thursday pissed me off. TAKE A PERFECT SANDWICH AND SCREW IT UP. ======================================= The original Grilled Cheese Sandwich which we have enjoyed there was made with Brie, Bacon and Tomato. It has been replaced with a sandwich that is now made with three nondescript cheeses. The sandwich now is mediocre and is typical of grilled cheese sandwiches served by many restaurants in many places. The Brie grilled cheese was an absolute standout and made a lunch fantastic. The new and improved sandwich is a real disappointment to me. We now make grilled cheese sandwiches at home with Brie, Bacon and Tomato on Sourdough. We swapped out standard bacon with the HoneyBaked Bacon from HoneyBakedHam - See goo.gl/JoHnsS for the HoneyBakedBacon. The Honey Baked Bacon just adds a little more! WINE SHOULD NOT COST TWENTY NINE DOLLARS A BOTTLE ================================================= Cheap Wine with lunch should not cost an arm and a leg. I don't recall all the wine prices that were on the menu, we do like Pinot Grigio and learned they were out of stock. The others included (I think) a Riesling and a Chardonnay, neither of which cause me to salivate so I went for the Sauvignon Blanc which we also enjoy. $29.00 for a bottle of wine at lunch is simply too much. I started to do some on-line shopping and found the BV Coastal Estates Sauvignon Blanc at $5.40 per bottles as long as we bought a case. See goo.gl/eWA9XX for the wine I found online. At the Party Source it's a little over $8.00. The $29.00 price tag is way out of line. It does have a cork so they charged an $8.00 Corkage Fee which is included in the $29.00. It really should be in a screw cap bottle so they could charge a SCREWING FEE. We won't be back or a while.

We found a gem of a place to eat. Our new go to spot. Wife got the mushroom burger and she said it was amazing. I got the chicken sandwich on the pretzel bun with the chutney sauce and it was out of this world. We have falling in love with Troy's café

Love this local, fresh spot. Great burgers & fish tacos. Their home made desserts are great, but some are store bought & not so great, so be sure to ask! Fine food with a casual atmosphere. Nice beer/wine selection. One of my favorite places to come. Great for entertaining out of town friends or a yummy date night without breaking the bank.

I don't know...this is becoming an "iffy" place. We went there for fish tacos. It was so salty that I couldn't take more than a bite. I make better tacos at home. Not to mention it is so pricey! You can get a pound of tilapia from Kroger for $6 and feed a crowd! I didnt like the service either. The people who work there don't smile..nor greet. Not my kind of restaurant. Overall, this is a "hyped up" restaurant.

The Uovo Sandwich is spectacular. Yeah, I don't know how to pronounce it either, but it is umami greatness. I wouldn't recommend for a date because it is quite messy being an open-face sandwich with a yolk that will eventually drip everywhere. You'll get so wrapped up mentally high-fiving yourself for making such a great life choice, you may even forget the person sitting across the table. We really did love the food. They have friendly service and their entrees are roughly around $10. That said, keep kickin' ass, Troy!

Love this place! The restaurant is fairly small with a laid back atmosphere. They have artsy details on the tables and serve a variety of wine. It is cafe style serving. You wait in line and order your food at the register and pay immediately. You pour your own fountain drinks and seat yourself with a number and they bring you your food. They time it for your appetizer, salad/soup, then entree to come out. The menu has a wide range of items. The tomato bisque is the best I have ever had. I also like the chips and dips. They also do catering. Emailing the owner is effective if you have a special request. I highly recommend this small business!

At 9:00 tonight, we had a dessert - specifically chocolate - craving. Thankfully we found Troys. What a gem! Their minty hot chocolate and wonderful double chocolate cake hit the spot. Add to that some out-of-this-world banana pudding and we were in dessert heaven! Soft lighting, warm wood table tops and a comfortable vibe (they let us linger well past 9:30 closing time) topped off our evening nicely. Friendly service. Clean. Highly recommend!

We've come here several times in the past and tried different things on the menu. Their menu is very focused and revolve around high quality proteins such as lean beef (for their burgers) and seafood (salmon, shrimp, tilapia). While I'm not sure their fries are hand-cut at the store, but they are most definitely not over-fried nor did they appear to have been sitting in grease until being served. We personally had their salmon raspberry salad. Their salmon was cooked to perfection, not dry but not overly pink on the inside either. Their mixed field greens, unfortunately, was slightly wilted due to the salmon being fairly hot when served with the salad. The raspberry poppy vinaigrette was delicious. We also had their cajun burger with a side of fries. The burger was cooked well and came out juicy--clearly no one pressed on the patty as it was being cooked. Finally, we finished our meal with their peanut butter pie, which was purchased from a local bakery. It was rich, creamy, and tasted exactly as one can imagine. The only very slight blemish to our experience was that their soup came out a touch cold. We will definitely be back, though.

Found Troy's looking for places 'near me' on my phone after a trip to IKEA. Delicious, high quality food at very reasonable prices. Definitely our new go-to after IKEA visits!

I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and finally got the opportunity to go. It's a small cafe located on the corner of a strip of other small businesses. Inside was warm and welcoming. They were setting up for their Monday wine tasting. The boyfriend and I tried the spring rolls, which were very good. The thai chili sauce that comes with it doesn't really add too much to the roll. The roll itself is good on its own. My boyfriend got the Cuban panini, which was loaded with meat and very tasty. I got the Uovo sandwich which was open faced with an over easy egg on top. The chips that came with our meals were a little salty but still yummy. This is a place where we will definitely come back again since they now have mac and cheese on their menu! Yum!

Troy's is a place that I try to eat at every so often just because I am satisfied every time I come in. Being in a secluded strip, it is very much a hidden gem of West Chester. They have a variety of choices of salads, sandwiches, soups, and a few heavier entrees if you're wanting something for dinner. The restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy, and all of the staff will treat you like family. My favorite thing to get there is the steak salad or the fish tacos. They also have a nice selection of desserts. If you are from West Chester, I highly recommend trying this place because it will quickly become one of your favorites. Oh, and did I mention they have wine?

I have visited Troy's Cafe off and on for a few years. I was introduced to the place by a very good friend with respectable culinary sense. The shop has grown over the years and now has more tables and outdoor seating. The ordering style is very similar to a McAlister's or other box deli shop where you order up front and a server will deliver your meal to your table. The floor near the soda fountain was unexpectedly sticky. They offer an assortment on in-house wines and Harney & Sons teas (a favorite brand of mine.) In the past I have ordered some of the burgers (one of which won a "best of" award a few years back if I recall.) This time I decided to try the Uovo sandwich with fries based on photos and reviews here on Yelp. My date ordered the Cuban with fries. I was genuinely excited for the Uovo. I happen to like open-faced sandwiches, but also love my eggs sunny side up. Nice and soft in the middle. Sadly I was a bit underwhelmed. Both the fries and the sandwich were a bit colder than expected. My date had a similar experience with her meal. I would have tried the strawberry shortcake, which in the past has been to-die-for, but after the other food's lackluster performance I decided to keep that fond memory intact rather than risk it. That being said, every other experience I have had at Troy's Cafe has been very good. It could have been an off-day. It could have been some other random occurrence. I will be back. I do recommend stopping in. Maybe just keep these experiences in mind.

Great new place! Fresh salad and one of the best burgers in all of Cincinnati made this cozy, casual place a real find. The fish tacos had a wonderfully complex flavor. The staff was very attentive as well. You order your food in the back at a cashier, but the food quality is better than a lot of sit-down places. We will be back, for sure.

This is one of my favorite go-to restaurants near home. The food is always delicious and my husband and I have never been disappointed. The burger is always what I go for. The chips are great. My husband always gets the spaghetti and meatballs and is never disappointed. They have some of the best strawberry shortcake I have ever had. After trying, we had to order a second one it was so good. If you are ever in West Chester this is a place you have to try.

I've been reading reviews about this place for months now. Finally had the chance to try it. It's right by the car title place. I didn't dine in, had my food Togo. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Came around 12 so it was pretty crowded. Ordered my food and waited about 10 minutes for my order. The wait doesn't bother me considering the quality of freshness. I ordered their tomato bisque, cuban panini and their fish tacos. Tomato bisque: Comes with croutons and cheese. Pretty thick if u ask me, reminded me of spaghetti. I don't even like spaghetti, but this was delicious ! Cuban panini: Came with potato chips, pickle and black beans. The texture of the bread was very hard making it hard to bite on. A lot of mustard? Lots of meat. I had very high expectations for this. Overall, it was ok. FISH TACOS: Also came with potato chips and a slice of lime. In all honesty, I was just curious to see how it tasted. Didn't expect it to be good but surprisingly enough it was the best thing I ordered. Big piece of fish and their sauce was mouthwatering. The best fish taco I've had in a very long time. I would recommend this place to anyone with a big appetite or anyone im search of great quality food. Their portions are very big, which makes up for the cost of everything. This is the best cafe in the westchester/liberty township area. Will definitely come back to explore more items from their menu.

I WANT TO LOVE THIS PLACE, but... Ok, to start with the positives...it is so close, easy to get a seat at just about anytime, independently owned with some unique great eats. However the times my friends and I have ended up there we had to spend a fortune for a few glasses of so so wine. If only.....well I keep hoping

Upon walking in the staff was very friendly, answering the questions I had and making recommendations on what their favorite menu items were as well as what was most popular. I settled on their salsa duo as an appetizer, followed by their once a month offering of fish and chips. It's so popular, they only offer it once a month, the last Friday of the month. So my timing was impeccable. The dish was great, two large pieces of fish on top of a huge helping of seasoned fries, served with their very own tartar sauce. The sauce was a little different than what I was used to, it had hints of horseradish, but very good. Nothing was over fried or soggy. It was just right. I sat on the patio out front. The staff was very friendly, checking in multiple times and filling up my drink several times. My friend and I, enjoying a long over due catch up session very much enjoyed. If my meal wasn't so large, I would have gotten dessert, they looked amazing too!

My dad and I were just passing through, and we needed somewhere to eat. The Yelp reviews did not steer us wrong as this was a perfect meal. I had the Sun Dried Tomato Meatballs. The dish was excellent, and I could tell that the basil was fresh. My dad had the Cajun Burger which he said was wonderful with great flavor and awesome toppings. Everything was very filling and we definitely left satisfied. The atmosphere was laid back, and the service was great. Who I presume to be the owner welcomed us when we walked through the door. Troy's Cafe is a must!

Our food was great, and the restaurant was well-staffed with very helpful and friendly employees. We placed our order and received it quickly. I had the fish tacos (which I've had at many places and am almost never impressed by) and they were very memorable. Some of the best I've ever had. The subtle, fresh fish flavor shone through the other very tasty toppings, including a mild sauce. I am normally a stickler about pre-made flour tortillas, but the flavors inside the tacos surpassed any qualms I had about store bought tortillas. Absolutely delicious (although not cheap, just shy of $10). My husband had the Troy's burger, which he enjoyed, and tasted to me like a really good homemade burger. He also enjoyed the fries, which are available for an up charge of $1, and were well seasoned and fresh. It's only a shame that we don't live in Cincinnati, because there were definitely other items on the menu that we wanted to try. We will definitely be back if ever in the area again. TIPS: --This place is on the small side! If you have a party of 4 or more and are going at a busy time, you may have a hard time with seating. Great for couples, with mostly 2-seater tables! --Has a wine menu, and neat craft beer selection!

Very surprised at how great the food was at this hidden gem. Even though it is a little hidden off 747, it is worth the find! Walk up ordering and excellent food. Craft beers, nice wine selection. I had a gourmet salad that was delicious.

Troy's has a great variety at very reasonable prices. They have a cozy dining room where you order at the counter. The set up is unusual, but it works. We've had the spaghetti & meatballs, salmon salad, the Caesar salad as well as Troy's burger. All consistently good. If you're in West Chester and need a nice place to sit down and have a solid meal and a glass of wine, this is your place. No complaints here.

This is one of the places I really miss going back home. Troy's was our go-to brunch spot, and we still go whenever we're back in town. The steak & eggs brunch dish is my favorite by far, and one of these days, I will find out what the secret sauce contains, that stuff is magical. The French toast is awesome as well, and my wife could have the huevos rancheros daily forever. The Cubano is definitely solid, and you can never go wrong with the burger, super fresh. Ive never really had anything bad from there, I'm normally very picky about chili and will usually only eat my own, but I must give it up, Troy's is on point. I've only talked to the owners once, and I got a very friendly vibe from them that made me happy to go back. If you're from the area like I am, and with Sushi Monk just a block away from here, it makes it pointless to venture anywhere else!

  • Neil H.

It's just OK. I've had a couple of burgers and the cuban, none of them were bad...but they weren't great either. The meat on the burgers was not very flavorful and teh buns were served at room temp and were nothing special. again, not bad, but not great.

I had the buffalo chicken dip for the appetizer which was great! Free refills on the chips helped finish off the dip. Main course was the Cajun burger with bacon. Another great choice especially paired with some of their great beer! I highly recommend this place for anyone and everyone!

Well I ordered a cheese burger with a egg added to it to go and I received the veggie panini . it was so good if it was not for the mix up I would have never have ordered it. I am a big meat eater and I figured if they can make a veggie sandwich this good there burger's must be amazing. And it gave me a chuckle to think someone who ordered a veg sandwich got a big old burger lol. I cant wait to eat here again

The food here is awesome!! It's a cafe but also has an upscale feel. I don't prefer places that make you order on the spot at the counter because I feel pressured, but the food is worth it. My favorite here is the chicken pasta with smoked mozzarella, mushrooms, bread crumbs. The service could improve here. The servers I've had were quite young and not very attentive. I had to wait 15 minutes for a glass of wine. I like this place because the dishes are inventive and unique and they change it up.

  • Pete P.

Solid choice for lunch or dinner! Everything is home made, and they have a nice wine selection as well. This is a small place, so if it's crowded expect a wait. Catering is available (sometimes their catered items fortunately day show up on the specials board).

Went on a Wednesday night when they have no corkage fee on wine. It saves you $8 per bottle. The prices of the bottles ranged from $11-30. They have a wine selection in the corner of the store where you simply walk up, grab the bottle you would like, and bring back to your table. The craft beers they served for $4 a can, about average bar prices you could say. I enjoyed one of their famous burgers, the Cajun with blue cheese and added bacon. The burger was quite juicy and tasted very fresh. The chips on the side were seasoned very nicely and their special sauce it quite good to dip the chips in. I also had a sample of the Salmon with the orzo. The plate and salmon was about what I was expecting for the price. Salmon was cooked very well and the orzo was a nice accompaniment. I would get something different though at this place. Overall a very nice atmosphere, $52 for 3 people and a bottle of wine. Service was excellent and will most likely be back in the not so distant future.

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided it was time to try out Troy's. The menu held such interesting items to try that it was truly difficult to make a choice. So, this time I got the tomato bisque soup and the grilled cheese sandwich while my friend and I decided to split an order of fries. The soup was very tasty and the sandwich was made with brie cheese, tomato, bacon on sourdough bread. What a delicious combination! Now, I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the other items. The service staff was extremely friendly, too.

My wife and I have enjoyed eating at Troy's multiple times. The Cuban Panini is our favorite. Awesome food for a reasonable price with a decent beer selection. I wish they had a more diverse menu selection or at least some specials to give us something different to choose from.

Troy's is a great little surprise in West Chester. I've been there several times and am always happy to return, the pasta dishes are always flavorful and the portions are just right. The fish tacos are the best I've ever had, although you can't go wrong with anything you get. Troy's is known for its wine selection but there is a corkage fee ($8 unless you go on a Wednesday).

I guess I'm going against the grain on this one. We've pass by Troy's Café all the time to pick up Chinese or to go the back way Tuscan Sun Cafe and finally decided to give it a go after reading all the Yelp reviews. Maybe we just had higher expectations given the reviews, or maybe it's because we don't drink wine with our meals. I'm not sure, but this was a real miss in our book. The place was busy for a Thursday night which was a promising sign. Didn't expect the place your order here and we'll bring it out to you concept - but no real offense. We studied the menu and finally narrowed it down to the Uovo Sandwich and the Smoked Mozz Pasta. We took our number and found a table. Our food came in a timely manner and while the Uovo sandwich looked nice (wasn't expecting an open face style sandwich) the Smoked Mozz pasta just looked meh - Pasta was served in something like a large cereal bowl and just didn't look like I had envisioned it would. I know, it's just pasta right - but beyond the looks it didn't really do much on the flavor/quality scale. If I was a betting man I'd say it was prepared ahead of time and either kept warm or reheated. I've actually had a pasta dish with similar flavor at Bob Evans that A. looked better and B. came with bread and a salad. The sandwich though was good and although I don't think I'd order it again I appreciate the uniqueness. So why a 2 star instead of a 3, while the pasta didn't hit the spot it was the fact that once I food was brought, we were never once again asked how our meal was. People around us were checked in on, heck we were right on the aisle and servers had to pass right by us, but nope - once our food was dropped that was it. Maybe if we'd had wine and given the server a reason to stop back and see if we needed another glass, I'm not sure - but combine that with the disappointing pasta and 'meh - I've experience better' really sums it up.

I ate there with my family (wife + 2 kids). We thought it was a little expensive for the meal we ordered. However, our larger problem was the very poor service. The waiter was touching our food with his hands. We waited a long time to get refills on our drinks. I will not go back.

3.5 stars, really. It's probably been a year since my boyfriend and I tried Troy's for a late Saturday brunch/lunch, and I still remember liking my sandwich (ham or turkey with brie, as I recall). My boyfriend, however, felt underwhelmed by his Cuban (also a sandwich). Especially given all the great reviews, I think we should give it another try and come back for dinner.
